"Salt & Light" Blue Sodalite Round Stone Cotton Necklace

 This unique necklace features a genuine 30mm sodalite donut stone pendant hanging on waxed cotton cord and measures 25" in length. Handcrafted to perfection, this limited edition item features a regal dark blue and white contrast. Sodalite is a mineral native to Brazil and Canada, typically displaying colors of light to dark blue, accentuated with white veins and stripes.

It is mistakenly thought to be Lazurite or Lapis Lazuli, though it has a more traditional royal blue shade compared to the latter's deeper ultramarine.

This Sodalite from the mine displays the typical azure tone, with Nepheline--a light-hued mineral--as a secondary component. It has less common gold flecks of Pyrite compared to Lapis and differs from Lazurite's even color, as it often shows white veining or mottled patches of Calcite complemented by small black inclusions.

This natural stone is often called Princess Blue, or its former commercial name, Alomite. This mineral is commonly referred to as Blue Stone, Canadian Blue Stone, Canadian Lapis, and Glaucolite.
