Poppy Jasper is a type of brecciated mineral that forms through the power of destruction. Solid jasper cracks, which results in the orbicular patterns you see on the stone. In those small voids, a combination of hematite and quartz takes over. Native Americans utilized Poppy Jasper as a crystal for protection while early Christians thought that these stones drove away evil.
